Discover Leh Ladakh is offering special tour packages for doctors, health practitioners, and all the health warriors who have been working hard to save humanity in this time of Covid-19 crisis.
To help doctors and other health workers unwind the stressful times, we are offering special discounted packages to Ladakh this season. In honour of the frontline workers, we are taking special care of them. The idea of launching dedicated tour packages for doctors and other healthcare workers was suggested by Dr Neelesh Shah from Mumbai who gave us the opportunity to serve him and he told us that how doctors, nurses and other staff members in hospitals are spending stressful time and that they need a break to restart work afresh.
Why special tour packages for doctors?
The doctors in most of the hospitals in the country are working day and night, without taking a break for a long time. The corona warriors are living a stressful life with inadequate rest or sleep. As the required rest and peace of mind is not possible at the hospital or home close to the hospital, they are in a dire need of a short break. What can be better than visiting a hill station with clean air, snow-laden mountain peaks, sparse population and an almost negligible number of Covid-19 patients?
What is special in the package?
The doctors and other healthcare workers are given a special traditional Ladakhi welcome on arrival as a gesture of thanks. We know their need as they would be planning the trip to refresh the body and mind. Depending on the availability of the time (number of days for tour), the trip begins with a slow start, majorly focussing on scenic and quiet places. Camping in beautiful Nubra valley and quality time by the shores of Pangong Lake, or riding a motorbike on Leh-Kargil highway across Magnetic Hill and Sangam, or trying a small hike, having a delicious meal inside the room, the package covers it all. And yes, all at a special discounted price.

Doctors head to hills to seek moments of peace
Having undergone stressful times amid Covid-19 pandemic, the healthcare warriors who are looking for a short break for peace of mind are heading to the hills.
The tourist spots of Himachal and Ladakh are witnessing an increase in tourist footfall, and a large number of guests the hotels are welcoming are health professionals. Doctors, mostly in groups, are visiting the hill stations for both short and long stays. As only a few hotels are open these days, the front office managers are witnessing the frequent entry of the doctors in check-in registers.
Dr Ashish Parmar, a health practitioner from Maharashtra, said, “I am a member of the group of doctors from Maharashtra. We set out on a long adventurous holiday tour to Ladakh to unwind the stressful times we have had in recent weeks. Now that patients’ load has decreased a little, we just planned and left Maharashtra without giving a second thought.”
Ladakh Packages for doctors
While a large number of doctors from the country are spending holidays in Russia where they will spend 24 days and will get two shots of Sputnik V, a large portion of tourists visiting the local hill stations like Ladakh are health practitioners. There are many doctors who are holidaying with the family.
“I could not give time to my family for a long time. I spend most of the time in hospital and I try to maintain a distance from a family with fear of possible spread of Covid. Finally, I took a break, drove my car and headed to Manali to have some quality time close to nature. We shall be enjoying camping, short nature walks and hikes,” Dr Deepak Khanna from Delhi said over a Facebook chat.
Many doctors are spending peaceful time in remote locations away from towns. According to travel agents, some doctors want to stay in camps close to nature. Some are looking for bike ride on Manali-Leh highway.
