Manali – Leh Road Status (2025): PARTIALLY OPEN (Expected to open for all by May 20) Srinagar – Leh Road Status (2025): Partially OPEN Darcha-Padum (Zanskar) Road Status (2025): OPEN with Conditions Note: Leh - Manali road is now connected but not open for all as on 13 May 2025. General movement is expected to be allowed by May 20 in 2025. Leh-Srinagar road is open for one directional traffic at Zojila pass, and this road is expected to open normally in few days. Darcha-Shinkula-Padum road is open. 12 May 2025: Leh-Manali road has been thrown open after a golden Handshake ceremony held at Sarchu. BRO officials said although road is connected now, there are many stretches with deep snow where road is still narrow where only one directional traffic can be allowed with some struggles for some days. They have made it clear that opening road doesn't mean that it's open for all vehicles immediately as traffic is managed by civil administration, not by BRO. So please note that this highway is still closed for general movement and will be opened only after police and civil administration chalk out a traffic plan. 29 April 2025: According to various news sources, Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has moved extra machinery towards Baralacha and Sarchu to reopen the Manali-Sarchu-Leh highway as soon as possible. The snow from the road is expected to be cleared within a week and road can be thrown open for military and essential supplies. General vehicular movement is expected to be allowed after May 10.
