Pensi La or Pansi La Pass or Pensi Pass or Pensila Pass or Penzila pass is a 4,400 meters (14,430 ft) high mountain pass which serves as a gateway to Zanskar valley in Kargil district of Ladakh union territory. Pensi La pass connects Suru valley of Kargil with Buddhist dominated Zanskar valley. A road connecting Zanskar valley with district headquarters Kargil passes through Pensila pass. At Pensi la top, travellers are greeted with two small but beautiful lakes -- Sta To and Lang Tso. The main highlight of Pensi la pass is mind boggling view of massive Drang Drung glacier. Before the construction of Manali-Darcha-Padum, Lamayuru-Lingshed-Padum and Nimmu-Padum roads, the Kargil-Pensi La-Padum was the only option to travel to Zanskar valley.
