We shall try to update this page as frequently as it will be possible for us. 9 August 2024: The Darcha-Padum road is now open. 4 August 2024: Darcha-Shinkula-Padum road is closed after a flashflood damaged a major bridge on the road, 14 km from Darcha. Restoration of the bridge for traffic movement is expected to take 4-5 days. 28 May 2024: The Darcha - Padum road is open for light vehicles. 16 May 2024: Manal-Darcha-Shinkula-Padum-Leh road is opened for one way traffic between Darcha and Padum on alternate day. 29 April 2024: More snowfall on higher reaches has blocked the Padum Darcha road. https://discoverlehladakh.in/zanskar-valley-leh-ladakh-tour-package.htm 22 April 2024: The Padum Darcha road is open for one way traffic with four-wheel drive vehicles and snow chains on tyres. 25 March 2024: While Darcha-Padum stretch of the Darcha-Padum-Nimmu road is still closed due to accumulation of over 20ft of snow at Shingola pass, the BRO has succeeded in achieving breakthrough in completing the Nimmu-Padum road construction today. However, the road is still under construction and can be fit for vehicles by end of the year or in 2025 after widening and blacktopping.
