Preparation
Wear good woollens, sports/trekking shoes, sunglasses, sun protection cream, lip balm, a cap for protection from sun, warm socks. Additionally, you may bring a muffler, gloves, a warm cap, windcheater.
Please note that weather in Ladakh is unpredictable. The temperature here can drop suddenly anytime. You can be comfortable with sunshine in the daytime but temperature can be too cold in night time, especially at Pangong and Tso Moriri.
Even the day temperature at Pangong, Tso Moriri, Chang-la, Khardung-la, Sarchu, Taglang-la and other mountain passes will be too low.
Besides warm clothes, bring sunscreen lotion, lip balm and sunglasses. Also bring photo ID cards (Voter ID, passport, driving license or Aadhar) for inner line/restricted area permit.
Don’t forget to bring your regular medicines and good shoes. You may bring power bank to charge your phone/camera on the go.
If coming between October and April, wear gloves, warm socks and gloves.
Please note that only post-paid mobile connections work in Ladakh. You can buy a temporary post-paid connection if doesn’t have one. Otherwise, most tourists come without any working phone.
